Why Schools Are Using On Demand Tutoring

Why Schools Are Using On-Demand Tutoring

As schools strive to address educational disparities and provide access to everyone, many factors must be considered when choosing the proper approach. Here are a few reasons why schools partner with Entheon Institute to help them provide the best quality education to their students.

The COVID-19 pandemic impacted students' education globally. The transition into online learning and the situation at hand resulted in learning loss which continues to influence today's student body. In a pilot conducted in January 2022, schools using Entheon saw an average 19.4% increase in student retention rates and an average 36.1% increase in credits earned over schools not using the program. Entheon allows schools to accelerate learning and to actively counteract the learning loss effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

When working in a typical classroom setting, it is hard for the teacher to address every student's individual needs. As a result, some students fail to comprehend general instructions and fall behind in the class curriculum. The national average student-to-teacher ratio in high school is 15:1, usually even higher in schools that serve underserved communities. Entheon helps schools provide their students with one-on-one personalized instruction that will allow for a targeted academic intervention to maximize their learning experience and prevent them from falling behind.

In recent years teachers have shown abnormally high levels of distress. A meta-analysis of studies published in Medline and PubMed from December 1, 2019, to June 15, 2021, showed teachers' stress levels to be 16.71% higher than the general public (Ozamiz-Etxebarria et al., 2021). These are the results of the immense workload that has come with adapting to new teaching modalities and trying to accommodate every student's need. Entheon is the perfect resource to give teachers extra support and reduce pressure and stress levels. Instead of depending on the teacher for everything, students can access individual sessions with highly trained tutors that will allow them to meet their academic needs.

Although the United States is a primarily English-speaking country, this alone does not fully represent the nation's population. "Data from the U.S Census Bureau indicates that nearly one-quarter of U.S children speak a language other than English at Home." (Williams, 2021) The school districts Entheon works with have expressed the lack of support for emergent bilingual students. At Entheon, more than half of our tutors can provide high-quality instruction in Spanish. Schools choose Entheon to give all their students, including those who are emergent bilinguals, the help they need to succeed.
